Another Self Realization

I have just cleaned my room and done my laundry. Good thing imho, my room space has increased by uh... 0.72 m2 (which is about 15% of my room space, maybe). Funnily enough, I have learned about myself a little today. I realized that I have decent amount of black T-shirts. Lets assume I have only one of those Attitude tee. I still own about 10 black colour shirts, some of which are my favourite. The weird thing is that I did not realize that I like black (as in the colour... lets not making racist comments, shall we) that much. I always thought that I like blue (only). To be specific, sky blue (like Lazio uniform, yessss that biancoceleste) but now, if a person asks me about my favourite colour.. it is blue.. and black... I guess... Anyways, 2 mangas in less than a week. How have I been slacking. Sigh...

PS: Interview in 9 hours time, wish me luck dude...
PS2: Going home in 15 hours time, wish me fun dude...

Love

I love running
Shall we run?

PS: I just want to write... Well, soon enough I am going to part with this Jangkrik for a week + coz I am going back home. So yeah, guess I need to write a little here. Speaking of going home, I have err... (wait, go n check awhile) (back) 420k rupiah in my wallet to be spent in my home. That's pretty a lot for 10 days, considering accommodation and food have been taken care of (duh, I am going HOME). I guess my bro would be damn happy then (I always treat my bro good food when I am home).

PPS: Whoa, the PS is longer than the content.

PPPS: WTH, even the PPS too...

Those Days

Well I'd love to describe myself as badak (Ind for rhino). Those kind of people who can be 'used' (read: work rigorously) for an extended period of time. However, it is kind of slipping away from me these days. In my glory days, I could run 2.4 in 10:34. Now? Maybe it's 16 or 17. Heheh... Those days I could carry stuff for long time, could stay alert with little sleep should it be needed, could swim 400 non stop... Dang... Kind of wanting to go back to that state. Just few days back, I could get KOed because a not so hardcore camp and a BBQ. Maybe what I need is an extra amount of exercise. After becoming the Asst Email Replying Machine of IRC, probably I am doing less manual work unlike those logging days. Kind of dropping my amount of exercise n maybe that overall metabolism rate. Today I went to run and voila... how my badak level has dropped. Only 23 minutes of running! And not even a round of A2 route (I dont think it is farther than 8.5km - my max during those days)! So yeah, maybe time to call the badak back home?

4liners

I like my own pm, such that I would like to write it down here. In response of a person's absence for about half a year.

ada yang pulang
ada yang hilang
ada yang bilang
hatinya melayang

Thank you... Let's just say I am pretty addicted to write this kind of stuff...

Damn... Suddenly I have this feeling that this 4 liners would go for myself. God forbid! (pleeease...)

The Teabag Analogy

Sure you have seen a teabag. Some come with a stapler, others just simple threads. Our lives are akin to the life of a teabag. We just live once. I tried to use a teabag to make more than one cup. Well, the second cup tastes horrible. It is simply because the teabag is not designed to be used twice. Similar to that, I do believe that we just live once and thus, this life can only make an impact once. It's now or never.

You can tell how good the tea is (though good tea doesnt come in a teabag typically) through its colour, smell and taste. To be an impactful person, sometimes we need to reflect to good leaves. In my own opinion, our lives should have these three qualities:

1. Good colour
Colour refers to what others see on us right on the superficial level. It cant be denied that we 'pass by' a lot of people. Imagine those people you see in those shopping malls. Probably they come in contact with you for only -what- 3 seconds. But these human being sometimes take note of you, and judge you. Having good 'colour' means having good behaviour as a whole. Sometimes you went crazy, it is fine. It's just how you crazy that matters. I mean if you take off your clothes, run and do a somersault while yelling 'I love the lifeguard!' when you are in an orientation camp is cool. But when you do the same to attract that hottie in Jurong swimming pool, not only you would not get his/her phone number, you would be shunned by the entire community of Jurong. Sure you would make an impact, just a negative one.

2. Good smell
This point does not refer to your bodily odour per se. Those people who can 'smell' you are those who know you by names, those who would hi and bye you, those who wouldnt mind sharing table at you, etc. You would speak to them, conveying your minds here and there. Well, generally you talk to them. How you speak determine how people see you, and how you make the impact on their life. When you are saying things, think of what you want to say before you say. Think first, think second if required, then say. I like to portray myself as the guy who dont think before saying anything. But with all conscience I have, I always try my best not to say vulgarities, not to touch on sensitive issues, such as how much Man Utd should lose tonight. Similar to BO, I consider vulgarities as an annoyance. Okay, I understand that some people have BO and I can tolerate it a little. But if the BO is getting too intense, I would do a Shadowless Leap from the Charge.

3. Good taste
Tea is best when it is in moderation. Not too diluted, not too concentrated. When I say good taste, I refer to thoughts and feelings. As a general guideline, these are what people would remember from you the longest. Well, generally good tea comes with great colour and smell but I dont really appreciate it if someone say "Hey dude, this tea is good! The colour and the smell is great!". I would then simply reply "The taste meh?" Lets see those persona. Imagine Jesus, Newton, Beethoven, Marx etc. What do people remember about them prominently. Not the way they carry themselves, not the way they carry their idea, but the idea in the essence. We remember the sermon on the mount, we remember f=ma, we remember fur elise, we remember marxism. When you leave this earth, what people would remember from you is your work, so make it counts.

Having said that though, I would not set a priority on which must be accomplished first. The three would have to come together. It is undeniably difficult, unless you are a genius. But one should carry an impact in his life, at least, I want to make a positive impact on the environment where I live in. This life is short, better make it counts.

Life should have a good balance of colour, smell and taste, like the tea I am sipping right now.

Genesis

In the end it was decided that I joined them to establish a HQ for this term exam. Initially we were hogging one of the project room of R2 but we switched to R6 yesterday because of a few reasons. The exam itself has been pretty good in my opinion. At least I got a question correct out of 4 questions for 3112-MoM and 2151 was not that bad either. Well, I guess this time round I am more prepared. Interestingly the schedule for this semester exam is pretty nice. Tuesday, Thursday, another one on following week's Tuesday and Thursday, ultimately giving enough time to read. Like today I managed to get a lot of rest, because my next paper is still 3 days away. So I challenged Steven for a little bit hardcore game of poetry. It goes like this. A person gives 10 words for the other to write. As for us, I gave 5, he gave 5. It turned out to be a little difficult because our two fields are pretty mismatched. I do engineering while he does fashion designing. Probably the only common factor is the sewing machine. Nevertheless, here's the result of my writing (not really what you call a poetry, just something come out of my mind, kind of semi prose). The words given were in Bahasa Indonesia, so yeah.. need to write in Bahasa too...

Pada mulanya sekolahnya menciptakan kertas-kertas soal ujian
Batok kelapa sang murid belum berisi dan kosong;
Gelap gulita menutupi otak sang murid

Kadang telepon genggam sang murid pun berbunyi
“Halo, kenapa say, mau ketemu di mana?”
Tugas aku? Ah ntar aja deh, satu jam juga selesai…”
Dan diapun tinggalkan itu laporan

Kadang sang murid punya uang
Bukannya beli buku pedoman buat belajar mesin uap
Atau tentang proses pembuatan lakban
Malahan dia makan di restoran

Kadang si kurang kerjaan punya waktu
Ambil sitar, ambil gitar, mulailah dia bersenang-senang
Belajar bukan jadi pilihan; kurang ajar
Tiba-tiba setengah tahun pun lewat

Minggu membaca tiba, matanya berkaca-kaca
Bagaimana caranya sekarang?
Oh Tuhan, dia sujud menyembah
Aku menyesal, katanya
Tidak kuulangi lagi, katanya
Dan Tuhannya menolong dia
Dikasih-Nya rumus fisika buat jawab soal
B+ B+ B- C+ B-

Dirasanya gembira, dan dia ditelepon si dia
“Halo, kenapa say, mau ketemu di mana?”
“Semester depan? Ah ntar aja deh, satu minggu juga selesai…”
